Thoughts on OkCupid

I’ve been an OkCupid member for a while. Over time they’ve been putting restrictions to limit messages, presumably to women which are in short supply in relation to the hordes of men that overrun the internet.

A new thing I’ve noticed is links to profiles I recieve in their daily emails tend to stop working after a while. I would guess it is to prevent people, presumably the hordes of men, from collecting links and then sending out mass e-mails.

Another thing is they’ve started is charging money to view certain profile categories. To use a techie term, I suppose it is to rate limit messages.

It is good to be popular.
